Books and audio materials may be renewed once. Before the item is due, you can renew it yourself in your online library account, or call the library to request a renewal. After the item is due, you must present it in person to be renewed.
Everett I. L. Baker Library does not charge overdue fines and fees. When items are three weeks overdue, the system will change the status to Lost. Users with lost library items will be notified to contact the library to return or replace the lost item to resolve the issue. Their library and Banner accounts are blocked until they contact the library and return the item or replace it with an identical copy. Users with lost library items who fail to contact the library may not register for courses, add or drop courses, check grades, or access college transcripts until their records are cleared. The block is lifted when the item is returned or replaced with an identical copy. Guest users with overdue or lost items are prohibited from borrowing additional items or renewing expired guest library cards.
Registered students and employees with an NCC login and password may request physical books from other CSCU libraries through NCC’s online library catalog. The requested books will be delivered to Baker Library within a few days. You will receive an automatic email when the book is available for you to pick up. You can return these books to Baker Library for delivery back to their home institutions.
Registered students and NCC employees may request materials from non-CSCU libraries through interlibrary loan. Requested materials may arrive within ten days or longer. The lending library may charge shipping and handling fees for this service, to be paid by the requestor. Before we proceed with the loan process, you will be notified in advance of any charges and given an invoice to pay the lending library directly. You will be responsible for any charges if the item is damaged or lost. To request ILL service, please complete the Interlibrary Loan Request form. Our ILL librarian will then follow up with you regarding your request. If you fail to pick up your requested item before the due date, it will be returned to the lending library.
